I'm going to do something a little different for my weekly D&D fix.

I'd like to introduce Delve Night at Shoecasa - a weekly D&D experience.

A Delve is a short D&D adventure, typically 2 or 3 encounters, with a quick setup and fast action.

Advancement will be a little different than a typical campaign. The first Delve (on March 11) will be for characters of 3rd level, but the party level will increase by 2 for each successive week, capping with levels 29 and 30 sometime in June or July. You can bring a different PC each week, or you can level up the same one from week to week.

You need to have your character ready to go each week - either make your PC at home during the week, or show up 10-15 minutes early to level up a character from the previous week.

If you are interested in playing, then post in the appropriate sign-up thread in the Delve Night forum (this thread can be used for sign-ups while we wait for the forums to be reorganized a bit). As long as at least 3 people are confirmed by Tuesday evening prior to any given night, I'll run a Delve. If we get too many people, then we'll run 2 tables.

The first 2 nights are:
March 11 (3rd level) -
March 18 (5th level)

I'm still in. But I'd really like to get back to weekly attendance from those that plan on playing.

I understand that people's lives are busy and an occasional missed session is unavoidable, but for continuity's sake I'd like to see a consistent group week to week.

This is just my personal feeling and it's really up to the DM and the rest of the players, if I'm the only one that feels this way then it won't really matter.

Note that I, too would like to see a consistent group. This format will allow us to be a bit more flexible, but without a steady group and commitment from players to make this happen, then the game won't succeed.

That said, this time around I'm changing my assumption on attendance -- whereas during the last few months I've had a policy of expecting you to attend if you haven't said anything, for this effort I want each player to make an effort to confirm your attendance each week.

Some of you might do this weeks in advance, and others might wait until the last minute. We'll see how it goes.

As soon as my work life materializes, I fully intend to resume Wednesday gaming. I just can't afford to drive over there right now.

I'm going to be out for at least the next two months, as Madison is arriving next week Friday, and there's stuff that needs to be taken care of before she gets here, and then when she arrives, too. Have fun with the Delves! Smile

Just received email from Stormweather indicating that he is available on weeknights once more. He's unable to connect to the boards from work, though (something about being "personal site" getting it blocked), so asks that if something does get rolling, someone call him to make sure he knows in time to join.

It's a strange and unusual thing being able to post to the boards. So, I'm up for Wednesday gaming. I am now free on a weekly basis, so if we are getting back to that point it would be great.

If there is something that is going on this Wednesday, would someone be kind enough to give me a call and let me know? (Things such as character level/equip/etc...)

I'd still like to do the occasional Delve Night, but I don't believe it will be a weekly occurrence. I've recently taken over Noonan's Thursday slot, and I don't want to run two weekly groups right now.

One-off Delves would be fun, though - though the next 2 weeks are busy time with a combination of work and parents coming in to town. But perhaps the 29th or the first week of May.

Ok, I'm beginning to think that everyone has given up gaming. Anyone? Did I miss the notice saying, "We're giving up gaming for Lent and beyond"?
