A thought -

How off-putting or inconvenient would it be to have an Aegis Forums mainpage, which contains the various WoW-related forums we've currently got.

I simply wonder if it would be more compelling for some of our newer members to have a forum that looked like it was the "main" page, instead of buried "below the fold" on the Campaign HQ forums.

Thoughts?

Depends upon what you mean by it having it's own mainpage?

phpBB 3.0 is out now (has been for several months now actually) I just haven't had sufficient motivation to upgrade the boards. That may easily accomplish what you're thinking of as it supports sub forums unlike the current forum model. Allowing for some of the forums to be moved around more.

If your thinking of a separate board system... I honestly don't know how the traffic patterns would play out then for folks.

I could always move the table top forums closer to being below the fold and move the Aegis stuff up.

Or are you just asking for a landing page that has either a redirect to the "folded" view or an Aegis site / homepage all of it's own with a link to said folded (or even unfolded) view?
